Kungfufish Photography got the photos of my Scaris Deuce Gorgon cosplay back to me the other day and I couldn’t be more excited!
I made the cosplay completely by myself. :D I drafted the patterns for the hoodie and the shorts and I printed the hoodie fabric pattern using fabric paint and a sponge.
I got lucky and found the fabric for the shorts. While it isn’t entirely perfect, I thought it was close enough considering I could not find anything closer (and finding this took about three days of scouring the internet lol). The shorts are pattern-matched along the seams and the pockets when laid flat.
The headpiece was made by taking a wig head that I had sized to my head dimensions and placing a weaving cap on it. After cutting out the scales from craft foam I gradually hot glued them into place. After gluing the scales I blushed them with chalk pastels to get the gradient and I sealed them with a spray sealer as well as two layers of matte Mod Podge. I sculpted the snakes using Crayola Model Magic and I hand painted them with acrylics. I glued the snakes using hot glue as the temporary hold and E6000 for the permanent fix to a piece of heavyweight interfacing I had previously glued to the top of the weaving cap. There are nine snakes in total (which I named after all the planets) just like on the doll’s head. :D
So there you have it! If you would like to see more pictures, you can check them out here!
